i was talking to a moth
the other evening
he was trying to break into
an electric light bulb
and fry himself on the wires
why do you fellows
pull this stunt i asked him
because it is the conventional
thing for moths or why
if that had been an uncovered
candle instead of an electric
light bulb you would
now be a small unsightly cinder
have you no sense
plenty of it he answered
but at times we get tired
of using it
we get bored with the routine
and crave beauty
and excitement
fire is beautiful
and we know that if we get
too close it will kill us
but what does that matter
it is better to be happy
for a moment
and be burned up with beauty
than to live a long time
and be bored all the while
so we wad all our life up
into one little roll
and then we shoot the roll
that is what life is for
it is better to be a part of beauty
for one instant and then cease to
exist than to exist forever
and never be a part of beauty
our attitude toward life
is come easy go easy
we are like human beings
used to be before they became
too civilized to enjoy themselves
and before i could argue him
out of his philosophy
he went and immolated himself
on a patent cigar lighter
i do not agree with him
myself i would rather have
half the happiness and twice
the longevity
but at the same time i wish
there was something i wanted
as badly as he wanted to fry himself

全书娓娓道来，对这关西四姐妹的生活细腻的描创作，唯美。最喜欢的角色是幸子，活泼可爱，为他人着想，偶尔有些任性，喜欢和老公撒娇，略带依赖的小女人，对她的好评非一般！其实书中很多人物的性格，至今在社会上也能见到，也非常鲜明，唯独贯穿整部剧集的雪子，继承了她们妈妈京派美人传统的女子，没见识过。沉静，优雅！好像这样的中国女子，也不曾见识过。书中的角色真的爱之欲其生，恨之欲其死！巴不得自私➕不要脸的小妹妙子死掉！
就，一开始完全没想到会给它打四星。刚看第一集时发现女主人设由原版的卫子夫变成了一个被误解的妖后——这也太悬浮了，而男主刚出场也非常轻浮无聊，一度让我怀疑后续剧情的品质。但因为是短剧，所以也追了下来。看到第十集雨中马车那一段我直接哭死…最后的结局更是拔高了整部剧：“鸢的本意是鹰，做你想做之事。”一下把前头一些妖后救国之将倾的悬浮之处抹平了不少，落脚点居然美美驶向了女性主义之路（????
